The two castrated slaves had been turned into human toilets for the house-slaves, who were forbidden to ever deposit their waste any other place. Finally they arrived and Lien and the others were pulled from the trunk and helped to stand. Then their hoods were removed along with their gags and armbinders. When her eyes had adjusted to the light, Lien saw that she was standing on a large dirt covered parade ground in what looked like an army base.
